1 in every 133 children is born with a heart condition.
Are you ready to become the 1?
Over the last year we have seen Paul Willgoss, an adult with a heart condition, take on his biggest challenge yet - a 1500 mile walk in aid of the Children’s Heart Federation. Paul has racked up his miles across a number of events around the United Kingdom and has made a huge contribution to the profile of the leading children’s heart charity in Britain.
Paul’s incredible effort has been recently been recognised with an extremely special investiture at Buckingham Palace.
For the last part of his challenge we need your help. . . Can you become the 1 in 133 by covering your own sponsored mile?
Just think of how much fun you could have over a sponsored mile; you could hold an egg and spoon race, walk, run, dance, skip or even travel by space-hopper - how your mile is covered is entirely up to you!
Maybe your work or school could think of a fun way to cover a mile? You could to travel more than one mile as a team or your group may prefer to cover a single mile in relay style. Get creative with your mile for a fun and simple way to help make a major difference to the life of a heart child.
Whatever you’re up to, don’t forget to tell us what is going on over your mile.
If this all seems like too much physical effort you may simply want to support our 1. Visit Paul’s blog where you can find out more about his journey and leave him any messages of support.
The Children’s Heart Federation will be hosting the big finale at the East Midlands Designer Outlet on the 3rd and 4th July 2010, where Paul and any willing participants will be finishing off however many miles we have left on the 1 in 133 treadmill in the CHF area of the centre.
You can download flyers to help publicise your mile and a form to record any sponsors by using the links below. More information on fundraising for CHF can be found by browsing through our fundraising pages. If you require any more materials for your sponsored mile please do not hesitate to contact us.
